It was a Thursday with bad weather, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I went to TYPEONE to see the actual car. It had been several years since I last visited Ogikubo Kannana, a location that brought back warm memories from my twenties.
When people think of the Integra Type R, they usually picture the 2-door model. Probably in Championship White.
But what captivated me was the 4-door DB8, and in black no less. The way the rear quarter drops down to the trunk line is simply gorgeous.
Small, low, and with a presence that makes you go “wow”
Despite its aged exterior, the mechanical components including the engine were kept in surprisingly pristine condition, reflecting the previous owner’s love and TYPEONE’s dedication. It’s hard to believe this car has done 400,000 km. The rubber and plastic parts in the engine bay are deep black.
Since the weather was bad that day, I asked to schedule a test drive for another time, and headed home feeling restless, with a mix of guilty pleasure and excitement.
