Spoon B18c engine / LSD shake down

I headed to Gunma to rack up some break-in mileage. The scenery, the corners, the number of cars on the road—I love everything about this route.

With the LSD installed, my DB8 now feels like the front end is glued to the road, making the car feel even more connected. Even though I’m still in the break-in period and can’t rev it to high RPMs, it’s interesting to notice the differences from before.

While cornering posture is discussed in various videos and books, with the LSD installed, the axis of rotation has become much clearer. I can now really feel the difference between tracing a clean line when I nail the entry posture versus the unsettled, wavering behavior when I mess it up.

In situations where the stock Torsen would cause push understeer, I can now use steering angle and throttle input to make the car rotate with a satisfying pull—it feels great.

As the break-in progresses, the allowable RPM range has been increasing, so I occasionally hit VTEC. “Oops, got on it too hard,” “Just a little more”—I’ve been experiencing this strange sense of excitement lately.
