Partial Paint Job

In contrast to the sparkling interior, the exterior showed signs of aging… As part of the “new car” restoration project, I decided to work on the body as well.

The original hood and rear trunk had spots where the paint was bubbling, and the paint around the pillars had also peeled off. The front bumper was in similar condition, so I consulted with a paint shop about the areas that needed attention and left the car with them.

Compared to mechanical work, body-related repairs are more straightforward—either panel replacement or repainting. That’s why choosing the right paint shop is crucial. It all comes down to how meticulously they do the work and how skilled they are.

After consulting with a friend, I decided to have Aoyagi-san handle the job. It should be completed by the time I return from my business trip. I’d love to get it looking beautiful and take it for a drive in Hakone.
