Compared to the DB8, the S2000 has a stiffer ride. The impacts from rough pavement and road seams are actually more pronounced in the S2000 with its stock seats than in the DB8 with RMS2700 seats
Both cars are equipped with Spoon FULL SPEC Damper kits for suspension
While tire differences play a role (A052 vs RE71RS), I thought wheel differences might also be a factor, so I decided to test whether downsizing the wheels was possible
For the S2000, the AP1 came with 16-inch wheels while the AP2 has 17-inch as stock. The DB8 runs 15-inch TE37 SAGA S-plus wheels, so I decided to try fitting them

First, the rear. With 15-inch 7J/+35 offset, it mounted without any issues

Plenty of clearance from the caliper as well

Next, the front. With 15-inch 7J/+35 offset and stock camber angle, this is how much it sticks out

Clearance with the stock caliper is just barely enough. However, no interference when spinning the tire
Personally, I believe smaller wheels are better, so going to 15-inch is a positive. Since the DB8 already fits Endless 4-pot calipers with these wheels, adopting a similar setup could reduce unsprung weight. And by running narrower modern tires, it might be possible to update the car without disrupting the balance from the stock setup
The concerns are that there’s no A052 available close to the stock size in 15-inch, and camber adjustment becomes mandatory, which means I’d likely need to switch to Ikeya Formula arms
Instead of all that, maybe just changing the suspension and brake pads would be enough. I want the S to offer a different kind of enjoyment than the Type R
