Eventually I would end up with a two-car setup—a fun car and a daily driver—but at this point, like with my S3, I was thinking of a single car that could also handle family duties.
My ideal was something like the Eunos Roadster I used to own, but with “room for four,” “a bit more power,” and “a great exhaust note.”
The candidates were the Alfa 155, Alfa 156, and Peugeot 106.

The 156 sounded great, but felt heavy to drive. The 155 had fantastic looks and sound, but I couldn’t find a reliable example or dealer that could put my reliability concerns to rest.

The Peugeot 106 just didn’t click with me, and I couldn’t picture carrying my family in it. Maybe it would have been different if a Maxi version like this had come up, though…
I always think there’s nothing more enjoyable than car shopping, but it’s funny how not being able to settle on a candidate can actually make you anxious.
